Doug Adams, President & Owner
Doug held a variety of sales and management positions at Frito-Lay and Nielsen before founding Prime Consulting Group, Inc. in 1996. Under Doug’s leadership, Frito-Lay established a sales training initiative to enhance the company’s already strong sales capabilities by integrating fact-based selling, category analysis and compelling business case presentations into sales techniques for sales professionals. The program delivered $20 for each $1 spent over five years.
Doug was also part of the industry working team that “wrote the book” on Category Management for the industry. During his final three years at Frito-Lay and while President of Retail Services at Nielsen, Doug was personally involved with many leading retailers across multiple channels.
Prime’s clients have included some of the largest Food, Beverage and Retail companies such as Frito- Lay, Pepsi, Dean Foods, Hostess Brands, Kroger, Ahold, HEB, Best Buy and GameStop. Prime has helped individual clients through go-to market strategy development, retail measurement, test market execution, category development, sales training and advertising effectiveness. Many of these projects involved working directly with leading retailers on marketing, merchandising or operations initiatives.
For Industry association and marketing programs, Prime regularly conducts ground breaking industry- level studies, state-of-the-industry analysis, program measurement and member skill building programs. Doug earned a B.A. in Economics and an M.B.A. from Emory University in Atlanta.
Steve McChesney, Senior Consultant
Steve has been a senior sales executive with expertise in account management, sales team leadership, strategic planning, contract negotiation, and sales training. His sales career has included sales and marketing positions with Frito-Lay, Hostess Brands, Dole Foods and most recently, in the foodservice channel with Shamrock Foods.
Discovering unmet opportunities and developing compelling sales presentations that create win-win solutions are key components of Steve’s success.
Steve co-leads many of Prime’s projects focused on developing selling skills that use the Fully Developed Account process to facilitate street and HQ-level opportunity identification, and then making or modelling compelling sales presentations to key decision makers. Steve is also helps further our client’s business development process by creating and using customer facing tools and presentations that elevate the mission of Prime’s clients to utilize consultative sales techniques across multiple industries.
Steve and his firm, Cogent Sales Consulting, collaborate with Prime to support all projects involving sales representation and sales training. He graduated from California Polytechnic State University/San Luis Obispo with a B.S. degree in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration.
John Pryslak, Senior Associate
Since joining Prime in 1999, John has worked on a wide range of projects including strategic measurement studies for various organizations in the dairy industry, DSD supply chain efficiency improvements, and in-store merchandising enhancements. He brings strong analytical skills to his projects, which frequently include the development of special quantitative tools and models.
John and Doug developed a methodology to determine the size of the consumer milk market in the United States by channel. They also developed a cost-to-serve model for a number of DSD companies, including 10+ beer wholesalers, two soft drink bottlers and a half dozen company owned DSD systems. Other analytical tools include models to quantify the sales and profit performance of categories and fixtures at front-end merchandising locations for Kroger and a group of 14 manufacturers.
John received an M.A. in Telecommunications Studies from Penn State University and a B.A. in American Studies and English from Dickinson College in Pennsylvania.
Nina Fahey, Analyst & Project Manager
Nina joined Prime Consulting in 2007 and is involved with project management as well as channel tracking and analysis. As project manager, Nina’s been involved in the planning, organizing, managing, coordinating and execution of a variety of industry studies and campaigns. Areas of focus have included consumer packaged goods, dairy foods, school milk waste measurement (published in Nutrition Today) consumer/school recycling programs, and digital and social media tracking.
Nina provides qualitative and quantitative analysis support and conducts research across a variety of industries that Prime serves. Prior to her arrival at Prime, she was the Strategic Planning and Marketing Analyst at Lake Forest Hospital. Nina holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration degree in Marketing from Loyola University of Chicago.
Barb Wilhelm, Executive Assistant/Manager
Barb has over 35 years of professional experience, the last 25+ as a member of the Prime team. Her incredible organization skills keeps our team running smoothly. She has strong technical skills and proficiency in data assembly, data analysis, project coordination, and in building elaborate presentations, spreadsheets and project reports. Barb is responsible for providing administrative leadership through team building support services for not only the Prime team, but working directly with many clients as well.
Barb graduated with Honors from Wm. Rainey Harper College as a Certified Legal Assistant. She has extensive experience in creating and manipulating PowerPoint presentations, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe PhotoShop and various web applications.
